This class is for those participants who have very little to no experience in working with clay. We will explore a variety of techniques to create and finish your art piece. Bring a sketchbook, and pen to each class. Note: if the first week of a five week session is missed participant “will be removed from the class roster.”

Create and imaginary city skyline using pen and ink. We will be using micron pens for this project. The final project can be either framed or turned into a card.

An introduction to watercolor covering use of watercolor materials, tools and techniques. Materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own.

this is our Summer Quarter Fiber Reactive Dyeing class. We will be dyeing fabric using the ice dyeing method and various resist methods. The dyed fabrics will then be used to create fiber “paintings.”

This is a basic skills class learning how to use the sewing machine focusing on straight stitching to gain confidence. Projects will include a simple tote bag and other useful items. Students will need to bring their own fabric scissors, straight pins and preferably their own sewing machines. Class machines are available for use. Some supplies will be provided and a supply list for basic tools needed will be given out on the first day. This is an all-day class and we will break for lunch. Class size is 8 persons.

Class Capacity: 12 Participants in this class will learn basic copper jewelry making techniques as well as learn the names of different jewelry making tools and how to use them. You will also learn how to make bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. The work made in class will mainly be with copper wire.
